Neurodiversity Profiling Tool ... UPDATE

Lucy Kennerley • June 23, 2025

The Centre for Autism Neuro Developmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities (CANDDID) study team are evaluating the Neurodiversity Profiling Tool pilot and would really value your views.

You may have already heard about the Neurodiversity Profiling Tool, based on the the Portsmouth Model.

The aim of this tool to be known as “This is Me” is to help schools and services across Cheshire and Merseyside to identify and support neurodevelopmental differences earlier and more effectively.

Wirral has been one of the early adopters of the tool. As part of this pilot, the study team has been set up to find out what’s working well, what isn’t, and how the tool and its guidance can be improved before it is rolled out across the whole of Cheshire and Merseyside which includes Cheshire West and Chester

An initial workshop was held to gather feedback and I have asked for this to be extended further to make sure as many voices as possible are heard. The study team is now widening this opportunity to all parents, carers and professionals who would like to share their views.

You can contribute by completing a short interactive activity (the ‘card sort’ game) using the link below:

If you prefer, or if you’d like to share additional thoughts, you can also email them directly at:

Please feel free to pass this on to other parents, carers or colleagues who may also wish to get involved.
