Wednesday the 3rd of December is the ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’. It is an annual celebratory day aiming to raise awareness of disability and promote the rights and well-being of people with disabilities.
This month we hosted our first in-person forum all about neurodiversity. It was lovely to meet many new parents and carers!
There was a Local Area Ofsted Inspection which we shared parent carer experiences to Ofsted Inspectors. You can find out more about the process in our latest blog here.
The second year of the ‘Partnership for the Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools’ (PINS) project is now underway in three mainstream primary schools in Cheshire West and Chester.

SEND Area Inspection – What’s Been Happening and How the Parent Carer Forum Has Represented Families
Over the past few weeks, Cheshire West and Chester has been fully immersed in the new Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) Area SEND inspection.
On 13th November 2025, parents, carers, professionals, and partners gathered at Hartford Golf Club to share ideas and improve support for neurodivergent children and families across Cheshire West.
The Centre for Autism Neuro Developmental Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities (CANDDID) study team are evaluating the Neurodiversity Profiling Tool pilot and would really value your views.
As part of the ‘Partnership for the Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools’ (PINS) project the Parent Carer Forum has presented each of the 4 mainstream primary schools that took part in the project in 2024/2025 with a box of resources to be used as a library by children, parents, and teachers.
The PINS project is now underway throughout England and the Parent Carer Forum is working together with 4 schools in Cheshire West and Chester.
