Join Our Team as an Administrator – Finance and Events Coordinator

Joanne Southall • January 7, 2025

Are you an organised and proactive person with a passion for making a difference in the lives of families with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at the Parent Carer Forum Cheshire West!

We’re looking for an Administrator – Finance and Events Coordinator to support our vital work through a six-month maternity cover role.

Who Are We?
The Parent Carer Forum is a representative body for parents, carers, and young people with SEND. We are all parent carer volunteers with our own children and young people with SEND. We work closely with families and services in Cheshire West and Chester to ensure the needs of children with disabilities are met. Our mission is to give families a voice, influence decision-making, and ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

About the Role
This flexible, home-based position is offered at £13 per hour, with 15 hours per week during term time. As the Administrator – Finance and Events Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our activities, from managing the Forum’s calendar to coordinating impactful events. While the role is predominantly home-based, you’ll be required to attend 6 coffee events and 3 in-person forums across the borough annually. Whether it’s organising coffee mornings or preparing meeting minutes, you’ll be an essential part of the team, helping us to provide the best support to our community.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you will schedule and support both virtual and in-person meetings and events, while attending and assisting with forum meetings and coffee events across the borough. You’ll collaborate with our Communications Representative to keep members informed through newsletters and social media, and coordinate events by sourcing venues, managing invitations, and promoting activities. Additionally, you’ll maintain important records, such as attendance logs and membership databases, and handle everyday administrative tasks, including email management and invoicing.

Why Work for Us?

By working with the Parent Carer Forum, you’ll be contributing to meaningful change for SEND families across Cheshire West and Chester. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills to support a community-driven organisation, all while enjoying the flexibility of working from home and being supported by an amazing team of parent carer volunteers.

Is This Role for You?

We’re looking for someone who’s organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference. You’ll have experience in administration and event coordination, as well as a good understanding of tools like Microsoft Office, Zoom, Google Workspace, and Mailchimp.

Knowledge of the SEND sector and the related issues families face is desirable. Most importantly your ability to listen, empathise, and connect with our community.

Apply Today!

If this sounds like the perfect fit for you, we’d love to hear from you. Send your CV and a short covering letter detailing your suitability for the role to the Chairperson Julie Duff at chair.pcfcwac@gmail.com

📅 Closing Date: 27th January 2025
