SEND Youth Provision in Cheshire West: Safe Spaces, Skills & Support for Young People

Joanne Southall • March 31, 2025

Finding the right social opportunities and support for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can be a challenge. That’s why the Cheshire West and Chester Youth Service provides free, inclusive, and engaging youth provisions across the borough.

These safe and welcoming spaces allow young people aged 11 to 25 to socialise, build life skills, and access support, all while having fun and meeting new friends.

What Does the SEND Youth Provision Offer?

The Choices SEND Projects run across Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich, and Winsford, offering:

✅ Social and Life Skills Development – Activities focus on personal safety, healthy relationships, budgeting, independent living, and teamwork.

✅ Creative & Recreational Fun – Enjoy arts and crafts, music, pool, table tennis, and healthy cooking.

✅ A Voice in Planning – Young people help shape events and activities that matter to them.

✅ One-to-One Support – Access guidance on mental health, relationships, and other concerns from trained youth workers.

These sessions create an environment where young people can thrive, gain confidence, and develop essential life skills in an informal, supportive setting.
