Second SEND Summit 2025: A Snapshot

Lucy Kennerley • July 16, 2025

Nine months after the first summit, the Second SEND Summit 2025 brought together over 150 professionals, parents, and carers to reflect, connect, and drive forward real change for children and young people with SEND. Edwina Grant, Independent Chair of the SEND Partnership Board, set a powerful tone around shared responsibility and culture change and much work that’s needs to be done. Highlights included the launch of the SEND Partnership Strategy 2025–2026, the embedding of the Parent Carer Forum survey into Key Performance Indicators and a moving parent-led video that will be developed for training.

There is a recognition that significant amount of work still needs to be done but there was a general acknowledgment that we could see the “green shoots” of change

We would like to thank all our partners for they continued investment in improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
