Designated Clinical Officer for SEND (DCO).

Gill took up the post of DCO in November 2015 just after the reforms came in in October 2014. As a DCO Gill has both an operational and strategic role.

Operationally Gill is responsible for collating all the health information for Education, Health and Care plans ( EHCP); being a point of contact for all stakeholders who have any health related queries and signing of all new and amended plans.

Strategically Gill sits on the SEND Strategy Group; chairs a SEND health providers group and uses data and intelligence to inform commissioners.

Previous to becoming the DCO, Gill was the Manager of the Paediatric Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Service for East Cheshire Trust. Gill is a qualified Physiotherapist and has worked in the arena of paediatrics since 1989 both in London and Cheshire.
